Student Grant Application

The American Statistical Association’s Section on Statistics in Defense and National Security (ASA/SDNS) offers 3 grants of up to $500, to help cover registration, travel, and lodging for students who wish to attend and present at DATAWorks 2026 but are unable to attend the workshop without financial assistance. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for the grant. Recipients are required to present during either the speed session or poster session and contribute to a brief article about their workshop experience for the SDNS quarterly newsletter.

In addition to completing the form below, interested applicants should submit a letter of interest detailing their motivation for attending the conference and the anticipated benefits of participation, together with one letter of recommendation from a major professor. These letters may be uploaded using the form below or emailed no later than February 13th, to dataworks@testscience.org.

The ASA/SDNS review committee will announce student grant winners no later than February 20th.
